Cecil County Detention Center Abuses

The inmates in CCDC are still suffering abuse and living through horrific conditions that include sewage backing up into cells, black mold, medical care being denied, and reduced food supplies. There is also dangerous overcrowding with (at last reporting) 289 inmates being housed in a center with a capacity of 200. Inmates consistently report that officers are not taking COVID precautions and that COVID is spreading throughout the population as a result.

Family members have stated:

"He broke his jaw, he broke his nose...They denied him treatment for 3 weeks...he now has nerve damage in his face. My husband will never smile again."

"My brother was crammed in booking for 20 days with 20 other men."

"My brother is allergic to peanuts...they feed him peanut butter and jelly every damn day."

"Men are shitting in the shower because the toilet doesn't work."
